Modification Monday: Baby Keller Sweater
Original Pattern: Henry's Sweater
Knitter Extraordinaire: Katie (Ravelry ID, blog)
Mods: Changed from a double breasted cardigan to a single button one, eliminated the garter cuffs and made the sleeves 3/4 length. The project page can be found here.
What Makes This Awesome: There is a lot to be said for making a pattern and simplifying it to be more streamlined. We often think of adding details when modifying a pattern, but taking things away can create a brand new look as well. I love the change to the single button closure for a less busy look, and the contrasting blue hem and collar provide just enough visual interest. It's perfection!
Update: Katie didn't stop there- today on her blog she has a girly cropped version, modified from the same original patten. Love!!

Absolutely love this!
It's adorable! I love the accent-colored hem & collar. : )
It has a charmingly rustic appeal. Yes, simplicity is an overlooked art.
