I chose Bronze (it comes in 4 colours), and I love it.
See, I'm not the most organized with my knitting tools. I have a vase for my straights, a pouch for my circulars; and my crochet hooks, dpns, and stitch markers run amok in the coffee table drawer:
(that coffee table drawer is my secret shame. Now the secret is out!)
So... I was in need of some organizing. Enter the handy Tool Butler. First off, I can tell you that the ways to use the Tool Butler are probably limitless- I bet you could round up one hundred Tool Butler owners and every single one would be organized differently. Even when organizing my own, I found myself wondering if perhaps the dpns should go in the zippered pouches, or the best way to use the cards for labeling, etc. There is no right or wrong way to organize the Tool Butler, which I really appreciate.
The mesh pouches are really handy- you can see through them, so you don't need to unzip every single one when you are looking for something.
I also love how it is exactly the right size to hold a pattern printed on normal A4 paper, folded in half. If you had a lot of projects on the go, you could have notes, patterns, needles and notions for each project in it's own distinct pouch. But here, I have my circular needles corralled in the pouches, according to size.
I'm really impressed with it's overall good looks, too- it resembles a stylish clutch evening bag more than a tool caddy of any kind, and it is that exact stylish-ness that makes me feel so much more professional about my knitting. Of course, when your previous system is a coffee table drawer, this is really a huge step up.
Now, let's have a giveaway for one of these amazing Tool Butlers! To enter, leave me a comment letting me know 3 things:
- your contact info
- which colour you like best (check out the product page for the full details)
- what you most want to use the Tool Butler for (e.g. organizing crochet hooks? WIP tools and info?)
Deadline to enter is 12:00 p.m. (EST) on Thursday, May 17th. I'll announce the winner then!

This is an absolute god send!! I have been wondering the past couple weeks how I was going to organize my ever expanding knitting case. I had to upgrade from a small pencil case to a makeup case not to far back. This Tool Butler would hold it all!!
All four colours are lovely although I would have to say Bronze is my favorite. Now if there was a purple one I would be all over that!
I've been dying to get one of these! Love it in eggplant. Would be great to keep my most-used needles and tools at the ready.

I like the black case. I definitely need this to keep all of the needles that I own in an organzied way. I now keep crochet hooks in an organizer that I made out of corduroy, straight needles in an old metal trash can and double pointed needles and circular needles in plastic bags. As you can see, I need help.

1. manduh on Ravelry
2. Have to concur on the Bronze
3. Odds n ends in the front pockets and pouches (stitch markers and holders, my small collection of crochet hooks, embroidery scissors...), frequently used circs in the large pockets, plus some graph paper and a little notebook for design notes
Isn't that the something - how handy it would be in my kip bag.
I do like the eggplant or black.
Thanks for the giveaway :)

Oh my I am in NEED of this! I currently have my hooks and needles and various notions in separate different boxes! I just need one case that'll be able to fit everything so I can take them when I travel (especially when I go back home in the coming few weeks yay!)
Loving the deep red case!

I love this!! I would definitely use to to organize my circulars, which are a total mess! The eggplant purple color is beautiful!
yes! the bronze is my favorite, too. I love that I can organize notions here and it looks as though this could do double duty -- knitting needles, pens, laptop cord, my small calendar...

I like the Eggplant. I think it would be great for all the extra stuff, stitch markers, row counters, cable needles, etc that get thrown in the bottom of one of my many knitting bags so that I have to go groping through them to find what I need. Better to have them all together!

I've been coveting one of these for a while. I would definitely use this to once and for all organize my circular needles. I have yet to find a good system for that. Oh, and I would probably choose the eggplant color! Thanks, Retha

This would be a great tool for planning projects-- tuck the proper needles, notions, & pattern all together in their own pocket, ready to go! Maybe a little chocolate, too! I'd go with the black or bronze, & feel oh so classy.
Oh, not two days ago I got a chance to reassemble my circ/dpn collection after my cat knocked the box they were in off the bookshelf.
I definitely need a better system! The deep red is lovely.
Thanks for your gorgeous designs and mods advice.
Looks like a great way to store all the knitting items that don't go into my tiny survival kitthat I bring everywhere. Could see myself sorting hooks, stitchmarkers, extra scissors and tape measures in the. Especially in a red version. Lovely.

For someone (me) who has been carrying her stuff in a pencil case, this would be a great addition to the knitting tote. I love the Eggplant Purple colour and would fill it with all the small stuff that I absolutely have to have to knit with when I leave the house.
I love the bronze.
I've been looking for something to organize my circular needles and crochet hooks. Love the pattern pocket too.

I'd put all my treasure (I have lots of:)): DPN, crochet hooks, needles, markers, meter, safety pins etc. etc....
I like the black! Very sleek!
I'm a college student so it would definitely help me to carry the tools I need from school to home to school again! And of course on the subway! Currently I put it all in a ziplock bag.

I like the red. I would use it for all the extra tools that I keep in my current project bag. That bag usually has a few projects in it and so multiple needles and do-dads for each of them sometimes end up in the bottom of the bag, the tool butler would end that!
nestraknitter at yahoo dot com
Red, red, red for sure. I would love to have a place to organize my needles and notions as right now they swim around in a big rubbermaid with my yarn stash, hiding under the coffee table.
I can't decide whether I like the deep red or eggplant better. Either way, it would be a fabulous little thing to have! I would use it to wrangle my currently out of control needle situation. I have a mug full of dpns, which really should be TWO mugs, and a box that just has my circs thrown in. It's super fun trying to find sizes in that mess.

I'm having trouble posting this comment with blogger, but I would love the red one to organize my DPNs and circulars. The Knitkit has done wonders with organizing my tools- the fact that I could keep the Knitknit in this tool butler is a dream come true.
I like eggplant purple and I would use it for my interchangeable tips and crochet hooks.
I love the Black Onyx. I'm definitely in need of an organizer for my circulars and loose pattern pages. They're everywhere! Thanks for the giveaway!

Right now I have a collection of mason jars on an end table with my collection of knitting accessories. This would be wonderful to organize that area.

It would be a hard decision between using one to organize my knitting tools (currently spread between 3 different pouches I made myself), and using it to organize my favourite sewing tools (spread between several different drawers). Maybe I need two? The eggplant colour is lovely!

Excellent review and give-away, these look wonderful! I would start by using a Tool Butler for crochet hooks, stitch markers and wool needles, and work from there! The eggplant/purple would be the colour I'd choose :-)

Wow, what a generous giveaway! I would love the eggplant purple to keep a set of tools in my purple purse for my knitting on the go. I seem to always be shuffling things around depending on where I am going with different projects. Currently I seem to have the same organization system that you have. Straights in a vase, circ's in a bag, the rest stuffed in a cupboard that falls out when opened. Thanks!

Oooh. I like that bronze, but I'm really more of a purple person, so I'd have to go with the Deep Eggplant. Yummy! I've been looking for a better way to store all my interchangeable needles. I could put the cables in those front pockets, and then use the zippered pockets to organize the tips and store my fixed circulars at the same time. This might have to go on the birthday list :)
I'm delighted on Ravelry :)
Eggplant is my choice. Like you I have all my hooks, needles and notions scattered around. It would be nice to have them all in one case. It would definitely make it easier to carry around.

My favorite is the Deep Red. I would use this to store my DPNs, circulars, stitch markers and other random tools for knitting. Right now, I have it all scattered in a drawer. It's in one place, but it's hardly organized. I definitely need the Tool Butler.
I'm really drawn to the eggplant at the moment though I'm sure any of the colors would fit in my current knitting bag! I'd use it to keep track of all the WIP tools. I currently have them spread out, unfortunately, between several little tins and school pencil cases.
I like the eggplant. I would use this to keep my needles and for a current project. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Thank you for the opportunity. rpshandATnsDOTsympaticoDOTca

Oh, wow, I love this! It's elegant, versatile, and well-designed. Thank you so much for reviewing it! I definitely want one... I have nothing to store my DPNs or circular needles in, so they are currently rattling around in a drawer. A Tool Butler could store both in one compact unit, which is a fantastic idea. Either the Eggplant or the Bronze would work really well for me; my two largest project bags are purple and brown, respectively.

Hi Julie!
My favourite is the eggplant purple...Purple EVERYTHING is my favourite!
I would use the tool caddy to combine the multitude of containers that I currently keep my needles and notions in. My seemingly ever growing number of DPNs is currently busting out of my way-too-small DPN case, my circulars are out growing my purple Namaste circular case and my notions are overflowing the cardboard box that said circular case came in...Not to mention the toothbrush case that is holding my crochet hooks and the million different containers and cases that are shoved in just about every purse or bag I own! This would provide me with one tidy spot for everything that could be switched between bags with ease!
Keep up the great blogging and I hope life with Lila is treating you well! :)

This is awesome! It would be a big help with holding my patterns and notes along with my dpns and stitch markers instead of all the ziploc bags I have in the coffee table draw. I'm glad I'm not the only one who shoves everything into the coffee draw. The deep eggplant is stunning.
what a handy thing! I'd love to have one!
- siruveru on ravelry
- the red one woule give a splash of colour to my mostly grey/black knitting bags and pouches
- I don't have a huge amount of tools, so I think all I have would fit inside this butler perfectly, making it easier for me to find whatever I need, not fussing all over the drawers, pouches...
I like the deep red. I would keep needles and notions inside, as I too have a drawer of shame. Also, it makes it easy for when I go visit my little niece with a bunch of yarn but no pattern picked out yet for a quick vacation baby project to be picked out by my sis.
What a useful bag! I love the chestnut brown color and would use it to store my knitting told that always get lost.
Oops...knitting tools.
I love the Black one!! I live in Nepal, but travel back to visit family both in Sweden and Canada regularly. Of course I never go anywhere without my knitting, but it gets old quite soon to have knitting needles, crochet hooks and DPNs in plasticbags. I would like to have a nice travel case so I can bring everything I need.

Right now, all my tools are in a tote bag. I'm sure you can imagine what a mess that is. I would love this especially for circular needles, and all the pins/markers/little things that always sink to the bottom of the bag.

Thank you for organizing the giveaway, Julie!
The eggplant calls to me, rather unexpectedly.
My circular needles and dpns currently live in a sometimes-ordered stack squished on a shelf next to one of the stash baskets. Every time I need needles I have to pull everything out, hunt and peck for the right size (which I may or may not have put back in the right place, depending mostly on whether or not pulling everything out to find said right place was beyond me the last time I came through), and then try to put everything back without dropping needles everywhere. It is, as systems go, not ideal.

I like the Deep Red one! I would probably use it as a WIP tool carrier. Although I might just move all my tools into it!
Ooh, what a great giveaway! Let's see...
I love the eggplant color. I would use this to organize all of my little knitting "things" I always seem to misplace.

Oops. I forgot my info: deianickelsen at yahoo
I would go for the Deep Red one for WIPs!
I love the deep red one!
I would keep all my smaller things in one place with this. Cabling needles, crochet hooks for emergencies... Everything!

Right now I am using an old bank deposit bag that I covered in fabric to hold all of my on-the-go knitting supplies. Hey, it is a step up from the ziplock baggie! LOL!
The bronze color is my favorite. I would use it for my circular needles, dpns and stitch markers.
That looks stunning. I would probably go for eggplant, although it doesn't look all that purple on my monitor.
I would probably use it to organize my pile of circular knitting needles, and notions. Maybe patterns in progress too.

i would love the black, and need it badly to organize all my circular needles (what a mess!!!)
Hi Julie,
Thanks for the chance to win a Tool Butler- the one knit-related thing I managed to come home to NWT without after a month visiting family/yarn stockpiling in ON. :-> I had seen them advertised and knew I *needed* it, but I never came across one.
As I was packing, it became abundantly clear that something butler-ish is necessary- I had to first hunt down all of my supplies (no small feat!) and then I stuffed it all in a generic, reuseable grocery bag. A most undignified mess. Oh, to be organized while traveling! That's my dream. In dark eggplant. ;-> The bronze is also beautiful- I'm not picky. :->
(And just curious- any chance we'll see your lovely Lila again soon? Hope you're all doing well.)

I like the black and the bronze best.
I live in Brooklyn and commute on the subway everyday, which is valuable time for knitting up little projects! This would be great to keep supplies organized in my tote instead of cramming everything I need into a ziploc bag!
Deep red definitely - id love one to carry around all the little tools you need on the go
I am knitranslatezen on Ravelry!
Thanks for the giveaway! :-)
This is such a cool & beautiful tool to keep all my needles and notions organized! I would love it in deep red!
Wow! What a lovely giveaway! I love the bronze color. Today I was organizing all of my goodies thinking I NEED something for all my circulars...:)
Hope you and your little girl are going good!
Wow, this looks so handy, I have a ton of tins for my tools but nothing that would carry it all...
I love the bronze and would use it to carry everything I could ever need in any knitting situation :)

I love the ggplant one! I SERIOUSLY need to wrangle my Circulars and DPNs, it's become a problem.

I love all the colors, but I think you're right, Bronze is the best of the bunch. :)
I would use it for my double-points, it's amazing how they multiply! - and for any new patterns that I'm designing, and new ideas that are in the works.

Love the Eggplant Purple. I would definately move all non-straight needles from their current box into the Tool Butler so I could always have everything with me.

I, (1) who can be reached as bigblueice on Ravelry, would love to use the (2) deep eggplant Tool Butler to (3) organize my DPNs separately from my circs, because they are currently all banged together in too small a canvas pouch.
Thank you!

I really like the Deep Red color
I need to organize all my sock-knitting supplies into one place before I lose my mind
I like the Deep Red, and I would use it to organize my WIP notions and patterns. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
The first part is easy - dark red.
The second part is more difficult.
I think I would need the Tool Butler (or maybe a half dozen) in my hand to figure out just how to use it (them)!
I'm going to be moving back home to Colorado from Asia in three months, and about a month after I get there, I'll be moving again. So I would use a Tool Butler to make sure all my needles, notions, etc. survive to wherever I end up spending Halloween at.
What a great design. It would be great to keep my most used needles and tools handy and organized. The deep red would coordinate with my favorite knitting bag
Neverblue on Ravelry
Wow, that thing is awesome!
I would love one in red, I would use it as my pretty much catch-all toolbox for my knitting. No more digging around my knitting box to look in a million pouches and tin boxes for whatever random tool I need.
debi.stoliar@gmail.com
This looks really practical! I like the black or eggplant purple - can't decide which one I prefer...
I would use this for my crochet hooks, and am pretty sure it would even snugly fit my pocket sized design-notebook, which would be perfect.
I hope you enjoy yours - having everything nice and handy makes it much easier to actually get a bit of crafting done with a baby around :)
I agree with you, the bronze is my colour choice!
I would use it to carry my things neatly (and easily) to knit night, rather than in the collection of ziploc bags I currently use!

I love the bronze, it's very classy!
I teach a knitting class at my local library and I would use it as my info/odds and ends!

I would love the deep eggplant. I desperately need to find a way to organize my cirs and double pointed needles.
Hi Julie,
I would LOVE this organiser. I have got one for my interchangeables from rosevans at etsy (gooorgeous), but am in bad need to organise my other knitting supplies.
1. aknitterinnz at ravelry
2. I like the black one - goes with everything.
3. one gazillion bits and pieces, but especially dpns and crochet hooks.
:-)

The black is nice. It won't draw attention to itself the way all my notions and needles do spread on the coffee table. My boyfriend would love it if I could organize them out of sight!

Oh!! I would love this organizer! I think the bronze is my favorite.... I would use it for all the odds and ends currently risiding in my knitting tote. . avasmom2007 on ravelry
I love it Bronze.
I love to sketch, knit and crochet so i would use it to hold my tools for one of the above. thanks for the giveaway.

Red - will gather up my mess and organize, organize, organize.
lizgong@msn.com
That eggplant is lovely. I always need organization! Even though I already have a couple of different organizers, both commercially bought and handmade, I think this one takes the cake. This should help clean up my living room craft area quite nicely! Too many WIPs and little bits everywhere... (Kamigaeru on Ravelry)
I could desperately use some grand organizing scheme for my DPNs and circular needles - they're a war zone!
I think I'm leaning toward the deep red, but the eggplant is appealing, too...
I love the bronze butler. I am embarrassed to say most of my knitting supplies are in ziploc bags or free makeup bags. This would really step up my style a bit and keep me organized, so I would love to win one!!

Love the red!
Great giveaway...
Um, Bronze. Then red, then eggplant, then black. I'd need to have one per project bag, then a spare to keep track of all the bits I'm not currently using. So I think I'd start with one. Or two. Maybe. ;^)

Now that looks useful! I'm a classic black onyx girl. I'm not terribly happy with my crystal bowl filled with tools that sits next to the sofa. This seems contained, yet accessible. Love it!

Eggplant purple..
What wouldn't I organize with this!! Dpns, Stitch markers, crochet hooks you name it.
Oh I would love the Eggplant. I would use my organizer for all my double pointed needles and markers and the next 3 sock patterns I want to knit. Thank you for sharing.
I love the Eggplant color! I currently have some Turquoise colored knitting stuff, including a Namaste bag! I think it would go great with that.
I'd love something to keep all my current WIPs in line. I am constantly losing or over-folding my patterns so I have to keep printing them out. Or I could use it for my notions... So many options!!

Nice!
My favorite is eggplant, and I would use it to keep my most used tools in my handbag, so I would have them handy for any project on the go.

I would use it to organize my dpns and crochet hooks.

LOVE this Crafter's Tool Butler!
- I love all the colors, but think the Deep Red is my favorite.
- I would most likely use this for organizing all of my crochet hooks, DPNs, stitch holders, markers, cable needles, point protectors & all other accessories. I could also see this as a great travel piece to carry items for WIPS - for knit/crochet/sewing and other crafting! Would be great for my commute / train rides.

Holy moly! I think this is the coolest organizer I've ever seen! Imagining having all my circulars, dpns, crochet hooks, stitch markers, darning needles, tip protectors, tape measures, rulers, pattern notes, emery boards, scissors, pencils, erasers, and row counters in ONE place is truly bliss!!!
The bronze definitely goes with all the brown bags I have, so that would be my choice.
Thank you, Julie, for such a cool giveaway!

Oh color? hmm...anything but eggplant...
Use - tools for WIPS. I'm notorious for having many projects going at once. I always carry my tool pouch from project bag to project baf. Would be nice t have a really jazzy one!
Thank you
Looks cool, and now your tools are baby proofed as well! (although you have a bit of time up your sleeve!)
I would use mine for my circs mostly I think, I tried sorting them in this layered box thing but it really doesn't work!
I;m a sucker for black!

I love the eggplant purple - I'd be using it for my wip tools for sure. Thanks for the chance to win!

I'd have to go for the Eggplant, I think.
I'm constantly losing track of what circular needles I own and where they are, so I think I'd use it for a combination of circular storage and WIP tool/notes storage.

I want a bronze one to organize my circular needles - they breed.

Wow, this is very generous of you!
I really like the egg plan colour! So pretty.
I think that I would use this to keep my stitch holders and stitch markers in. Oh, and my yarn needle! These are the things that go missing most easily in the pit that I call a yarn stash/ bedroom. Some times it is hard to distinguish between the two!
0bjrd1@queensu.ca
Love the red colour. I totally need one to oranize my circular needles - they are all over the apartment, mostly found curled under the sofa or the bed.
We have family scattered and my oldest child leaves for college this fall. We are always road tripping it, which means road trip knitting. I would use the eggplant or bronze tool butler to eliminate some of the knitting mayhem that is in my travel bag! Thanks for the opportunity!
