Product Review and Giveaway: Jordana Paige Tool Butler

I'm sure many of you are familiar with Jordana Paige's knitwear designs and bags, possibly even seeing them at your LYS or online. But have you seen their new Tool Butler?!

DSC_2156-1

I chose Bronze (it comes in 4 colours), and I love it.

See, I'm not the most organized with my knitting tools. I have a vase for my straights, a pouch for my circulars; and my crochet hooks, dpns, and stitch markers run amok in the coffee table drawer:

(that coffee table drawer is my secret shame. Now the secret is out!)
My creation

So... I was in need of some organizing. Enter the handy Tool Butler.  First off, I can tell you that the ways to use the Tool Butler are probably limitless- I bet you could round up one hundred Tool Butler owners and every single one would be organized differently. Even when organizing my own, I found myself wondering if perhaps the dpns should go in the zippered pouches, or the best way to use the cards for labeling, etc. There is no right or wrong way to organize the Tool Butler, which I really appreciate.

DSC_2169-2

The mesh pouches are really handy- you can see through them, so you don't need to unzip every single one when you are looking for something.

DSC_2177-6

I also love how it is exactly the right size to hold a pattern printed on normal A4 paper, folded in half. If you had a lot of projects on the go, you could have notes, patterns, needles and notions for each project in it's own distinct pouch. But here, I have my circular needles corralled in the pouches, according to size.

DSC_2174-4

I'm really impressed with it's overall good looks, too- it resembles a stylish clutch evening bag more than a tool caddy of any kind, and it is that exact stylish-ness that makes me feel so much more professional about my knitting. Of course, when your previous system is a coffee table drawer, this is really a huge step up.

Now, let's have a giveaway for one of these amazing Tool Butlers! To enter, leave me a comment letting me know 3 things:
- your contact info
- which colour you like best (check out the product page for the full details)
- what you most want to use the Tool Butler for (e.g. organizing crochet hooks? WIP tools and info?)

Deadline to enter is 12:00 p.m. (EST) on Thursday, May 17th. I'll announce the winner then!

I'm also a fan of the gold (or is it bronze?)
This would be so nice to organize the stuff I need for knitting on the go / knitting on a vacation. It's all well and good having everything laid out in jars and vases (not actually. I spend a lot of time searching for a matching set of dpn's), but when I have to go somewhere, I end up throwing everything in a bag, and forget half of what I need, and lose half of what I bring. Not to mention being stabbed on a regular basis.

Yeah, this would be very useful.

But of course I would chose eggplant purple! I would love to be organzied to keep all my tools in one nice case rather then in umpteen!

Until Jordana comes up with a kit that can help me organize my life, I would love one of her deep red tool butlers to help me organize my circular needles. My circs are scattered between various project bags, in no particular order, causing me no end of grief when I search for the right size for every new project that requires one.

Merci beaucoup!!

This is so cool! I would choose the black one to organize all of my knitting needles, right now they are in the plasic case thing that they came in (knitpro) which is OK, but, its plastic and its not that cool, plus my hooks and dpns dont really have a good place, either do the cables, I would love one!

I've been drooling over the Tool Butler for a while. My knitting tools are usually scattered through multiple knitting bags (or spread around the house, much to my husband's dismay). My fixed circulars in particular seem to defy any attempt I make to organize them, so those pockets would be PERFECT!

I think the Tool Butler would be especially useful while traveling, since I frequently take more than one project along with me, and some projects (like a sweater) may require circular needles in two sizes as well as DPNs in order to complete it.

I'm in love with the Deep Red Butler!

I would love it in Deep Red and use it for holding my most used circular needles sizes and the patterns of current projects.

Great giveaway! I think red is best :)
I would organize my circulars. I have not kept their plastic sleeves so they live in a jumble in a small pitcher. Crazy! Of course they all look alike and every time I need one it takes me at least ten minutes to find the right one.

I think I like bronze best, followed by black onyx. I'm totally bookmarking this for when I have some extra cash - my dpns and circs are all in an old ziploc bag that doesn't close anymore.

Kim said...

Such a nice offer! I think I'd have to go with the bronze one, too, and it'd be so handy for (finally) organizing all my interchangeable circs, stitch markers, and other notions in the main compartment, and of course all the cables in the other one.

I'd love to have this in eggplant purple. My circular needles are Addi Clicks so they are in perfect order, but my dpns are a wreck! They are all in one box and I never know which are the same size, or what size they are at all. You can find me in Ravelry: NeulistiMNK .

I love the bronze color and it would be the perfect organizer as I'm often changing projects (yes I'm one of those people), I have to have several things on the go at once! I've made do with a cute handmade kitty pencil case one of my students quilted and made for me but I'm always rummaging around to find the right tool etc. This is such a cool giveaway...who wouldn't love it!!

It's a toss up between the deep red and purple for me, they are both fetching. I'd put my interchangable circulars and dpns in there, along with all the accessories - gauge, tape, notes on what my usual needle size is, etc. Right now everthing is in a definiteley unorganized basket. The little stuff is so hard to keep organized. Thanks for having a giveaway

I love this! The bronze is beautiful, although I would want to start with the Eggplant. I carry I KIP bag around all the time. Sometimes, I just want to knit a swatch, or I am working on lace. I like to be prepared to change projects quickly, and this would really fit that bill. I just started to collect circular interchangeables, too. Seems this would hold all the cables, tags, ends, and stitch markers very well!

That is awesome. When I travel my knitting needles end up in a zip lock bag. I love the eggplant purple. It would be great for storing DPN's and circulars, as well as the little things while traveling.

Thank you. Serena

I love the eggplant ! I knit all the time even while walking to and from work. I would knit while walking the Komen 3 day for a cure but they frown at that. Would need a pink one for that) My knitting tools would all be together instead loose all over my bag, sometimes even being left on the train! It would truly be an awesome item to combat the ADHD disorganization. I also do a lot of needlepoint and looks like a perfect stitcher's tool organizer. Hmm might need to get two of them)

Love, love, love the Eggplants color!
I love the fact there is an inventory list. I have a whole host of crochet hooks in need of a home. Since there are several organizing pockets, it would be do convenient for me to carry scissors, thread, or other tools for various other crafts! Would be honored to have this beautiful organizer for my tools.

I love my Jordana Paige bags! I have two Bella Black and JL Kelm in lime green. I love that you do not need to carry a purse along with your knitting bag. The Butler is perfect now I have no need for a wallet. My checkbook will fit in right along with my tools. great Idea Jordana Paige!!

I really like the bronze color as well. I desperately need something to keep all of my little tools in one place. Currently, they are in three or four different cosmetic bags.

I love the bronze! I can't believe how wonderful it is!
My needle organization is frightful! I constantly have to run to the yarn store to get a DPN set or a circular needle, only to find the one I needed just as the project is underway. Thank you!

omg how smartly is that design! i would love to use the bronze one (because it's the sparkliest) for projects on the go... all my fave needles and notions at the ready... and it would hold quite a bit, too.

wouldn't it be fun to use the accordion for a bunch of beekeeper's quilt hexipuffs?

What a magical little organizer! I've been wanting something like this to help organize my DPNs and I love that it has the accordion pockets for organizing patterns and such.

The eggplant color would be my choice.

I like the fact that this could pull together several little bags and be easily grabbed for whichever project I wanted to take. I like the red one, but all of the colors are nice. Jens4kids4@gmail.com

I have a needle roll that needs to be replaced - the needles keep falling out! - and I think the tool butler would be great!

I would use this to organize my WIPs...currently, I use a pencil case to hold all the smaller items I need as well as a few double pointed needles. It would be great to have the organization of this Tool Butler so everything can be right at my fingertips, and I don't have to go digging through a pencil case! I love the Bronze!

Hi Julie,

First, congrats on becoming a mommy!

I love the red one. I live in a tiny studio in NYC and my knitting notions and potions are stashed in every nook and cranny... wherever I can find a space. I tend to buy knitting stuff over and over again, I can never find where I stashed them, only to find them 2 weeks after the re-purchase deep inside winter boots. So, if I get the pouch, I would pack it in as much as possible with all the knitting notions, needles, patterns, etc that I can muster. I'm at verc75 at gmail dot com.

best,
V

I love the bronze!! I'd love it for myself for stitch markers and project supplies when i carry them with me!! but I'd actually probably give it to my mother.. she has so many circular needles that she lets me borrow so I don't have to buy my own and they get so tangled! I'd love to give her something since she's always so willing to help me with my projects!! Thanks so much :)

I love the black one! I've just started back knitting all the time after a long break (college is too busy!!!) and I need something to carry in my purse with all of my DPNs, crochet hooks, and other little accessories so they don't go missing. (I tragically lost two of a set of four Brittany dpns because they fell out of my messy purse on a bus! Never again!)
Thanks for the lovely giveaway!

Currently all of my knitting needles and other tools are in a plastic bin that I keep under my desk. Circular needles are tangled around each other, straight needles all askew, it's chaos! This would be a great organizer for my circulars.
