Product Review and Giveaway: Jordana Paige Tool Butler

I'm sure many of you are familiar with Jordana Paige's knitwear designs and bags, possibly even seeing them at your LYS or online. But have you seen their new Tool Butler?!

DSC_2156-1

I chose Bronze (it comes in 4 colours), and I love it.

See, I'm not the most organized with my knitting tools. I have a vase for my straights, a pouch for my circulars; and my crochet hooks, dpns, and stitch markers run amok in the coffee table drawer:

(that coffee table drawer is my secret shame. Now the secret is out!)
My creation

So... I was in need of some organizing. Enter the handy Tool Butler.  First off, I can tell you that the ways to use the Tool Butler are probably limitless- I bet you could round up one hundred Tool Butler owners and every single one would be organized differently. Even when organizing my own, I found myself wondering if perhaps the dpns should go in the zippered pouches, or the best way to use the cards for labeling, etc. There is no right or wrong way to organize the Tool Butler, which I really appreciate.

DSC_2169-2

The mesh pouches are really handy- you can see through them, so you don't need to unzip every single one when you are looking for something.

DSC_2177-6

I also love how it is exactly the right size to hold a pattern printed on normal A4 paper, folded in half. If you had a lot of projects on the go, you could have notes, patterns, needles and notions for each project in it's own distinct pouch. But here, I have my circular needles corralled in the pouches, according to size.

DSC_2174-4

I'm really impressed with it's overall good looks, too- it resembles a stylish clutch evening bag more than a tool caddy of any kind, and it is that exact stylish-ness that makes me feel so much more professional about my knitting. Of course, when your previous system is a coffee table drawer, this is really a huge step up.

Now, let's have a giveaway for one of these amazing Tool Butlers! To enter, leave me a comment letting me know 3 things:
- your contact info
- which colour you like best (check out the product page for the full details)
- what you most want to use the Tool Butler for (e.g. organizing crochet hooks? WIP tools and info?)

Deadline to enter is 12:00 p.m. (EST) on Thursday, May 17th. I'll announce the winner then!

This is an absolute god send!! I have been wondering the past couple weeks how I was going to organize my ever expanding knitting case. I had to upgrade from a small pencil case to a makeup case not to far back. This Tool Butler would hold it all!!

All four colours are lovely although I would have to say Bronze is my favorite. Now if there was a purple one I would be all over that!

I've been dying to get one of these! Love it in eggplant. Would be great to keep my most-used needles and tools at the ready.

I like the black case. I definitely need this to keep all of the needles that I own in an organzied way. I now keep crochet hooks in an organizer that I made out of corduroy, straight needles in an old metal trash can and double pointed needles and circular needles in plastic bags. As you can see, I need help.

2. Have to concur on the Bronze
3. Odds n ends in the front pockets and pouches (stitch markers and holders, my small collection of crochet hooks, embroidery scissors...), frequently used circs in the large pockets, plus some graph paper and a little notebook for design notes

I like the Eggplant. I think it would be great for all the extra stuff, stitch markers, row counters, cable needles, etc that get thrown in the bottom of one of my many knitting bags so that I have to go groping through them to find what I need. Better to have them all together!

My favourite is the eggplant purple...Purple EVERYTHING is my favourite!
I would use the tool caddy to combine the multitude of containers that I currently keep my needles and notions in. My seemingly ever growing number of DPNs is currently busting out of my way-too-small DPN case, my circulars are out growing my purple Namaste circular case and my notions are overflowing the cardboard box that said circular case came in...Not to mention the toothbrush case that is holding my crochet hooks and the million different containers and cases that are shoved in just about every purse or bag I own! This would provide me with one tidy spot for everything that could be switched between bags with ease!
Keep up the great blogging and I hope life with Lila is treating you well! :)

Thank you for organizing the giveaway, Julie!

The eggplant calls to me, rather unexpectedly.

My circular needles and dpns currently live in a sometimes-ordered stack squished on a shelf next to one of the stash baskets. Every time I need needles I have to pull everything out, hunt and peck for the right size (which I may or may not have put back in the right place, depending mostly on whether or not pulling everything out to find said right place was beyond me the last time I came through), and then try to put everything back without dropping needles everywhere. It is, as systems go, not ideal.

I'm always leaving at least one of the things that I need for my WIP behind, so this would be super useful! I've been in a red-phase recently, so I think the deep red looks gorgeous. Thanks so much for this great give-away, it's really awesome.

ooh, yay! i've been eyeing these for awhile: i like the deep red. currently all of my notions & tools are crowding (& spilling out of) my little sewing basket, so i'd use it to get them out of there and give them their own home! i'd also probably put at least some of my double-pointed needles in it; maybe all the sock-sizes ones.

Hi Julie,
Thanks for the chance to win a Tool Butler- the one knit-related thing I managed to come home to NWT without after a month visiting family/yarn stockpiling in ON. :-> I had seen them advertised and knew I *needed* it, but I never came across one.
As I was packing, it became abundantly clear that something butler-ish is necessary- I had to first hunt down all of my supplies (no small feat!) and then I stuffed it all in a generic, reuseable grocery bag. A most undignified mess. Oh, to be organized while traveling! That's my dream. In dark eggplant. ;-> The bronze is also beautiful- I'm not picky. :->

(And just curious- any chance we'll see your lovely Lila again soon? Hope you're all doing well.)
