Wee Wednesdays: Baby Bliss

G and I recently found out... we're going to have a baby girl:
baby leggings 2  It was so obvious on the ultrasound that G blurted it out before the technician could! I couldn't wait to cast on for something in a more decisive colour palette, so I cast on for these baby frog legs, and decided to add stripes.

CONGRATS Julie! If you were having a boy I would still say CONGRATS!! Just the fact that you're able to have a baby is a blessing so truly the gender is irrelevant. Can't wait to see the finished leg warmers. :)

Oh boy... or in the case, girl! As the mother of several (3 of one and 2 of the other), I can honestly say that girls are more appreciative of the handmade items - sewn dresses and knitted items... and there will come a point where they are settled at your feet, ready to learn - that has always been a favorite moment of mine.

I love your muted color palette for those leg warmers... and they look so snuggly soft. One word of advice - newborn only lasts a short while, concentrate on 3-6 months as your smallest size... trust me.

I was thinking only this weekend that I needed to make legwarmers for my own baby - you've saved me the search through ravelry :) The colourway you chose is so lovely.

As you know, I have a boy and a girl and both are treasures! The definite advantage about having a girl is that she'll love and want to wear everything you knit. When I knit for my kids,my guy is much fussier about what he's willing to wear while my girl basically asks me to knit one of EVERYTHING for her, too! What joyful news. xo

Ahhhh...little baby girls. So perfect. I just laid mine down on the bed after cuddling with her on the couch for 20 minutes. The smell of her little head and the warmth of her body next to mine just can't be beaten! Your legwarmers are looking great - thanks for the link to the project page. I have to agree with a couple other commenters...don't waste too much time on tiny stuff. The fun really begins around 4 months when they stop spitting up and pooping on their clothes constantly! :)
