FO: Lelah

Pattern: Lelah Needles: 3 mm for lace, 2.5 for bust (stockinette) Yarn: Romni Wools Angora Silk Mods: None, other than the standard measuring and calculating that go with this pattern. Notes: I couldn't have picked a more perfect project for this yarn. the silk/mohair blend gives the yarn strength, softness, and good drape. And the mohair gives the white yarn a faint halo effect. So pretty! I will say this, though- wet silk is gross. and it really lengthened dramatically once wet blocked- I'd say by about 3-4 extra inches. which is fine for this type of project, but potentially not so fine for others. I love the little green velvet ribbon; it is exactly what I wanted. I was fortunate enough to pick up the notions for this during the TTC knitalong, which meant that I didn't have to wait too long before I could finish this one up. I think I really love it!

That looks amazing on you and the knitting itself just looks perfect. I always go back and forth about Lelah because of the strapless factor, but yours is really making me second guess my reservations.

It looks lovely, you should be totally proud! I'm amazed at how well that fits you and how much the ribbon compliments the lace patterning.

Out of curiosity, is there elastic worked in at the bust to keep it up, or does it just stay fitted by magic/luck?

So pretty! You look great in it.

I guess I should have mentioned that part! the top has a 1" elastic encased in the stockinette at the top. I would not leave a strapless top to chance, I'm not brave that way. :)

Va va va VOOM, baby! That is seriously gorgeous!

Does the top stay up? That's my biggest fear with strapless anything, that I'll wind up flashing someone. Not that there's much to see, but, you know, it's impolite.

It's beautiful! And it looks fantastic ON you too! I love the drape of the lace... and that green is perfect with the color of the top. Swoon indeed!

Love it! I also just finished blocking silk and holy does it ever stretch, but I think it's good to get it out of it's system now for less stretching in the long-run...

So pretty! That's the first FO I've seen in that yarn, so that's good to know about the stretch. I'd written off Lelah because of its straplessness, but you've changed my mind. It drapes and fits you so well--none at all of the slightly preggers look that empire waists can produce.

Wow, that fits you really nicely! The yarn definitely looks perfect - the colour, the stitch definition, the drape. PS. Nice tan! Reminds me to get tanned before winter is over :S
