I love everything about it. The simple silhouette. The stripes. The way it looks fabulous with jeans, on the beach, in the sunshine. I tend to really love classic wardrobe staples, and this sweater is hitting all the buttons. I think this would be a lovely, Zen knit... full of stockinette and some stripes to keep it interesting. Except.... have you seen the colour options for St. Denis Nordique?! I can't bloody decide! These are the colour combos I'm looking at so far:
So... each row of three is a potential combo that I like. The first colour in the row represents the main sweater colour, while the other two would be the contrasting stripes. I like the idea of a pop of colour, but I tend to gravitate towards neutrals; they suit my lifestyle (and me, and my wardrobe).I'm leaning towards the top two, but I'm not sure if I have the combo right. What do you all think? I could use some advice.

It's great to knit sweaters that you can see yourself really living in, not just occasionally wearing, but always grabbing to throw on with jeans. I personally love the third row down. I'm a sucker for blue-grays, I think that combo's awesome.
I love that second combination, but I also think the fourth could be fun. Looking forward to seeing what you choose!
I'm going to go with the first color combo (surprise surprise!) I love the idea of a dark main color and lighter stripes!
Well, you can hardly go wrong, can you? Personally, I'd vote for #1, but maybe with the middle blue-gray as the main color. No matter what, it's going to be lovely!
I like number 3. I love the blue-green in the middle, and I'm especially fond of it in combination with brownish colours.
I think I like the second and third rows the best. Although the final row would definitely make for a fun, cute sweater.
I like number 3. I guess I like it because there are 2 neutral colours and one stands out a bit (blue in this case). That makes the combo interesting.
I love #3 - it's still very neutral, but with a little something more.
While all would be quite lovely, my favorites are #1 and #3. (And, no, I hadn't yet seen the color options for St. Denis Nordique. Wow.)
Love that! If it were me, I'd go for a classic white with black stripe combo, very French! For you, I really like the second color combo you selected.
Even though I loveee white clothes I tend to stray away from them because whenever I wear white I spill something. It is inevitable. I personally would go with the third row. Whichever you choose will be beautiful though! Those are great colors. =]
I really like the first combo. There's something really classy about a dark background with lighter stripes. Good luck!
my two favorites are the first & the third rows. the only thing is, cause of how dark the charcoal is, I feel like the first row colors would make me feel like it's a sweater more meant for winter (partially just cause wearing it in the sun could be HOT!), whereas the third (and the 2nd, even) lean more toward summer cause the main colors are lighter. Good luck deciding!
3rd down. A warm brown with some blue would really compliment your eyes & skin tones!
The top one has a "beachier" look to it with the blue... but I like the second one as well!
Beautiful pattern! My favorite is the first one. I think it's because of the blue! All four combos are great though and I look forward to see which one you will choose!
Love the second row!!
Number one, mostly because the slately blue and blue gray are such pretty shades, and I think these colours would work well with a winter wardrobe as well, x Nadia
I like #3 then #1. Lovely colours.
I like #3 - It's still pretty neutral, but the blue gives it a little color.
#3 gets my vote. I love the sweater that goes with the color choices too.
No 3 but...
I really like the first colour (dark blue/black) as main colour with pink and light brown/cream stripes....just to complicate matters;)
Lovely jumper, cant wait to see what you choose.
It's not popular, but I love the pink and yellow choice! I always tell my students that when you knit a sweater you want people to know you knit it and that you didn't just buy it at Target. You can't find a classic striped pullover in pinks and yellows just anywhere!
But you really can't go wrong. The sweater is beautiful and however you cut it will turn out awesome!
Hi! My first comment :)
I love the last combo, the fresh spring colors! Can't help it. Wouldn't do it too dark though, so I woudn't go for the first one.
Number 3 looks great.
Yep, I can see why you're obsessing. That is a fantastic sweater. I like the combo at the very top, and I think it would be neat with the grey as the main color, too. I can't wait to see what you decide on!
I love this sweater! I am drawn to stripes all the time, but I think I have enough striped sweaters! I love the combos that have blue in them. I like the 3rd one the best, but I think they all would look really nice.
I like 2 or 3!! I love the colours in 4th combo but I think that would be TOO much colour.
I think all the colours you've chosen suit you, which is a fabulous place to start. Means you can't go wrong!
But, I will have to say that if neutrals suit your lifestyle best, then honestly, you'll wear them more, no? I've made the mistake of choosing a colour that I think is beautiful, but not wardrobe/lifestyle appropriate. And I never wear those knits.
I would then say that your leanings of choice #1 and #2 are good. Personally, between the two, I think #2 gets my vote.
I love the first combination; it evokes a sense of the nautical, but also channels a bit of Parisian charm. That's my vote, but any of those color groupings will knit up beautifully!
I love the third combo, and I could also see it with the oatmeal as the MC and the blue and taupe as the CC colors. The three colors conjure images foggy mornings during my honeymoon in Maine on a windjammer cruise.
I like the top two as well (I love neutrals) but there's never anything wrong with a little pop of color. Sorry, I'm no help!
i vote 1 or 3!
Looooooooove the second row. Or the last one. Any of them will make a gorgeous sweater.
I'm just catching up on my blog reading! So interested to know if you picked a colour way yet. I like the third one down best :)
