Modification Monday: Physalis Hat

Original Pattern: Physalis

Knitter Extraordinaire: Miyayo (Ravelry ID, blog)

Mods:  Used the leaf stitch design from the original shawl to create a slightly slouchy hat with great texture, also went down in gauge from Aran to DK. Details on her project page can be found here.

What Makes This Awesome: I love Miyayo's take on this gorgeous pattern, and turned it into a stunning 1 skein project. I am a bit jealous of this, because who doesn't want to have a fabulous one skein project that looks this beautiful?! The crown decreases are wonderfully one, as well. The next time I look at a highly textured shawl, I'll be thinking about how well it might turn into a beautiful, slouchy hat. This definitely gives me ideas....

Gasp ... It's knitted items like this that make me want to learn how to knit better than I currently can. How gorgeous!

As much fun as the 8,000 baby presents I'm working on are, I've been looking for a challenge... I think this is gonna be it. So gorgeous and JUST FOR ME!
