Modification Monday: Modified Castanea
Original Pattern: Castanea
Knitter Extraordinaire: Theresa ( Ravelry ID)
Mods: Left out the 6 rows of garter stitch between stitch repeats for a whole new look to this shawl. Project page can be found here.
What Makes This Awesome: This modification is the result off a happy accident, as Theresa actually forgot to do the 6 rows of garter between each repeat, which gives the lace a whole new look! The result is a beautiful lace stole, and gives all of us lace knitters a new way to look at those lace charts- what could you leave out, or repeat differently? And how would it look on a grand scale? If it turns out half as lovely as this, it would be a wonderful experiment!

What ana amazing lace fabric! Great colour too!
What a lovely modification! And shocking that it was an accident, but that's coming from a person who is always waiting for those breaks in lace knitting.
Think that will be going in my queue. I don't think I've ever stopped and noticed this pattern before, but it's absolutely beautiful
How beautiful! I can't believe it was an accident, what a lucky mistake !
I wish my knitting accidents turned out as beautifully!
