Modification Monday: Walnut Cardigan

Original Pattern: Walnut Snood

Knitter Extraordinaire: Hiroko (Ravelry ID, blog)

Mods:  Used the original snood pattern to make a cardigan, and switched from bulky weight to aran weight. For cardigan inspiration, used this pattern and this pattern for ideas. Project page can be found here.

What Makes This Awesome: It's difficult to transform a snood or cowl into a foll cardigan, but Hiroko did just that. I love that she balanced out the rich texture with the stockinette portions and clean structure. It looks modern an amazing, and perfect for fall (which I know is far away, but always comes around again). Look at all those sumptuous cables- there's no denying this cardigan is a knockout.

Wow what a gorgeous design, I love the bulky styles right now (in summer, obviously...) :)

It's absolutely gorgeous!
I would love to make it for my older daughter. She's going north to study and this would become very handy.

I see so many beautiful patterns that I realize I cannot find enough time to make .... It makes me want to cry. This is one of those designs.
