5 in 15: Wardrobe Remix Fail.

I gave up about half way through my 15 in 15 wardrobe remix. Here are the outfits I managed to get photos of:

And shortly after that point, it was increasingly difficult to find time to get a daily photo of what I was wearing (I need to learn how to do decent selfies), and then it seemed like there were too many outfits missed, and I wasn't enjoying it all, so I gave up.

I found the whole process really difficult, and not because it was difficult to come up with different outfits, rather I found myself resenting the limitation and begun hating everything that I had picked for the wardrobe remix. I've only recently been able to start wearing some of those pieces again, because I got so sick of them. And I actually liked the items I chose, I just don't do well on diets of any kind (even clothing diets). I get all angry and bitter and resentful and then really, what's the point if you are miserable? So I went back to wearing whatever I wanted, and was much happier for it.

But I did realize one thing, from that first photo in the series: I clearly dress Lila like a mini-me!

I love your honesty! There's no reason to make yourself miserable. You made the right choice to drop the project. Congratulations on your new wardrobe freedom!

I find when i pick something out of my closet to wear I end up choosing the same colour or style for T at first. I end up having to rethink what she wears more often than not.
Loving that tank in the first pic and the dress!

It's not a total failure. It was worth giving the project a try because you still learned something, that you don't like restriction!

That always happens to me when I'm travelling. I get so sick of the things I've packed when I don't bring enough options. I'm happy enough to only wear a small selection of items when I'm going through a phase with them, but I need to have the option to wear something else!

I'm with you, why do something that makes you miserable? I love that first photo, love that you are matching! She looks like she's ready to take off walking!

As far as I'm concerned, that's a total win - you came up with five more outfits than I would have! I actually like all of them, and of course Lila is cute as a button in the first photo.

I'm with you on the restrictions thingy. Just do what you want in the areas you can. Life has too many other curveballs up its sleeve to sweat it. :)

Hooray for mini-me children! I'm all about that. And honestly, I wouldn't have done any better with a clothing remix, myself! Props to you for even trying. :)

Haha, I was going to say how much I loved that Lila matches you in the first photo! And yeah, if you weren't having a good time with the remix, it was right to stop doing it. No failure at all!

I was exactly the same when I did me made may. By the end of it I was hating everything I had to wear. I hate having limitations on what I can wear. You just never know what your going to feel like wearing when you wake up.

I love your blouses/cardigans in the first two pictures! In a subsequent post can you tell us where they are from? Thanks!

Love the pieces you've chosen. As with the others, I love the matchy-matchy first pic! I think you did great! I'm still hanging out (in the backseat) in the remix because I'm giving myself breaks between the remix (because 1: I just bought a bunch of new dresses that I will HATE to not be able to wear. 2: Its the tropics so the pieces need to be cleaned before I'll be willing to wear them again. 3: I'm also terrible at diets of any kind. :D)

As for the selfies, it is actually quite easy after you get used to the rhythm of a timer. It helps with a timer that takes multishots, or a remote so you don't have to keep running back and forth.

I find the best time for a "remix" is on vacation when you have to deal with a chosen set of clothes and make them work. I did 16 days in Germany and nailed it with what I took. But I agree, why be on a clothing diet when you don't have to be!

you totally made the right decision. there is no point in pursuing something that frustrates you, especially if it's supposed to be a fun endeavor!

(but you look lovely!)
