London, and New Goodies

We had a very short stopover in London, just before we flew back to to Toronto:

I had the opportunity to meet up with Allison, who used to live in Toronto but now lives in London (lucky girl!). We met up for coffee, pastries, and a cruise through John Lewis and Liberty's haberdashery departments (she also very kindly took photos 4 and 6 in the above). We were originally planning on going to Loop, but it was much further away and more than a little awkward to get to with a stroller... so I'll have to save it for another time. But I did pick up some goodies:

Wonderland was purchased at John Lewis, buttons and measuring tape are from Liberty of London.

Wonderland is a great little collection of stunning kid's knits, I'm really impressed with how stylish and lovely they are. And I like that they have a good size range (2-7 years old), I feel like if I don't get around to knitting some of my faves for a little while, it's okay.  I'm definitely going to make the Lovisa cardigan for Lila, as it features three buttons and will be perfect for my new Liberty buttons. A big thank you to Allison for making time to up and tour me around, it was fun!

What gorgeous goodies! Love the Liberty buttons and tape measure. Liberty's is one of my favourite shops in London - even though I can't afford 90% of it's stock!

That book was just the cutest - can't wait to see how the sweater turns out with those buttons. Thanks again for a fun visit! Next time we'll make it to Loop! ;)

More wonderful photos! It's a bit of a dream of mine to visit Liberty one day, so I'm totally jealous! I don't know that I've ever used the word "gorgeous" to describe a tape measure, but your new tape measure is gorgeous!

My mom has been to La Droguerie for me twice and the first time it took her 1,5h to get out of the Paris shop... AND they weren't even nice. (The yarn is gorgeous though) But the second time I gave her exact instructions (they have a weird way of selling, you have to know what you want before you walk into the shop, more or less) AND she wasn't in Paris but in Rouen and the ladies in the shop were lovely and they were out of the shop with a bag full of yarn in no time. So next time you're in France try the Droguerie in another city, the Paris one just seems to be too full and with an incredible pre WWI system =)
