A Visit to the Mothership

Lila and I went for a short visit to Montreal to visit Tanis and Chris. It was a great visit, and went by much too quickly- TFA Headquarters is a lot of fun! For starters, there are fresh cappucinos on site:

The fall colours were lovely in Montreal, and the weather was stunning. Tanis and Chris were testing out this whole baby business with Lila (who is pulling a weird face in this photo):
And of course, the great food:
But let's face it- going to the mothership meant ogling So. Much. Yarn.
Look at all that single ply cashmere silk drying on racks. Just rows upon rows of yarn. This sort of thing makes me weak in the knees, the way being around mountains of spices make chefs excited to get cooking, the way gigantic waves make a surfer want to paddle out to them. If it wouldn't leave such a tangled mess, I'd love to jump into a cushy pile of yarn like this!

Oh my! So. Much. Yarn. Indeed, how did you leave without stuffing it all into your suitcase?

Looks like a lovely trip. Montreal does have good food, and well fabulous yarn! I would probably just stand there and stare (drool).

I can't believe I'm practically her neighbour and have never met Tanis. Maybe one day! I'm glad you had such a nice visit in Montreal. Even though I'm not from here, it grows on me more every year.

What a great trip! Look at Tanis, practicing with both her babies. :) And all that wonderful, wonderful yarn. There's an orange/peach row near the darker yarn colors that just stands out so beautifully. Let's hope you got to take at least a few skeins home with you. You need to be able to accurately "social media" about the yarn, right? :)

oh wow! I'm pretty sure walking into that room would render me speachless. I'm trying to talk my LYS into carrying TFA just so I don't have to wait till the Frolic to see is all again.

With Tanis holding Stella like that, you can see her little baby bump! Such a trend setter you are - and kudos on resisting the yarn jump... not sure I could have.

Sounds like a lovey trip. And the oddest thing is that I have a single tea cup almost identical, minus two flowers (one on each side) to the one on the first picture! I got it from a lady selling a variety of wares at a local historical reenactment. :)

Fun! I would love to jump into that pile of yarn, too. I think it would be cozier than leaves - new fall tradition?

The colors in Montreal are indeed wonderful this time of year! I am pregnant with my first baby and I noticed your stroller!

Would it be possisble to know what brand/model it is? It looks like an all terrainstroller and this is what I need! Thank you for the info!

Your blog is so inspiring!
