WIP: French Chestnut

I'm well on my way with my French Braid Cardigan in Tanis Fiber Arts Green Label Chestnut:

The cardigan is a top-down raglan, with a thick, cabled border. I had a difficult time initially conceptualizing how it was all going to work, but I decided trust in the pattern and kept going, and sure enough had that 'oh, riiiiiiiiight!' moment where it was obvious how it came together. It's a really interesting construction, beginning in a similar way as a shawl, which is really clever.  I'm  on my second skein, and I'm hoping that I can keep moving quickly- I realize now that it's an especially ambitious Ravellenic Games project for someone with a baby, but I remain optimistic!

Looking good. It will be so much quicker one you separate for the sleeves but really you're lucky to get any amount done with a new baby!

This is beautiful. Love the colors too. They make me feel more ready than ever for fall!

Look beautiful! I too am having difficulty in visualizing how you knit the back/neck border and the body, all in one piece. I can't wait to see the finished product.

My goodness, the yarn you are using is so beautiful. I'm going to have to add this cardigan to my queue!

Oooh- that is a pretty cardigan! I hope it all comes out, even with the crazy construction.

I think you're doing pretty well. I have two under four and 90% of the time I knit when they're asleep. It's not that they touch my knitting, but it's near impossible to tension properly when you have a child on your lap. And you can't concentrate on lace knitting at all with children demanding your attention.
I look forward to seeing the finished garment. Chestnut is beautiful.

I probably should be knitting my Ravellenics project instead of reading blogs, but hey, that's inspiring! Your project is looking fabulous so far!

It's looking so pretty already -- and will be beautiful whenever you get it finished. I'm so impressed that you're even atttempting a Ravellenics sweater with a wee one at home!
