Ravellenic Games are Coming!!!

Tanis Fiber Arts Green Label- Chestnut

That gorgeous pile of yarny goodness is going to morph into a French Braid Cardigan by the end of the Olympics!

I'm moderating the Tanis Fiber Arts Team (unofficial team, as the cut if for registration was way earlier than in previous years) over here, and the more, the merrier! The only criteria for joining in knitting/crocheting in either TFA yarn, or using a TFA pattern. The Olympics start this Friday- can't wait! I'm going to get swatching so I can be ready to cast on during the opening ceremonies.

does knitting velvet morning in non Tanis yarn count? I have some yarn I bought in Germany that I am going to knit up in your Velvet Morning pattern - no colour work though as the yarn is a very colourful short verigated wool. I have just cast on this past weekend as a warm up and plan to knit whilst on the road to PEI this coming weekend and while watch the games! I hope I can be a part of all the fun!@

My husband always said that my mother should enter the Knitting Olympics, because of her speed. Who knew this could actually come about?

That yarn is sooooooo pretty! Good luck with your Ravellenic challenge. That sweater is going to be amazing. I really want to participate this year, but we're moving and I'm finishing a class, so that's not going to happen. I'll live vicariously through other challenges.

I've signed up for the Games (not in the TFA team I afraid though), although I have to admit I really have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing, other than casting on during the opening ceremony on Friday! Hey ho, it will be fun anyway!

French Braid is one of my wips that got pushed to the way side and I'm just itching to get back to it.
I'm tempted to do it as one of my wips for the Ravellenics but I have a sweater I need to finish for my mum and I really should get to that first!

Oh yes! I keep forgetting that the Olympics are starting this Friday -- I really want to join in with the TFA group ... I need to check on my TFA stash.

French Braid is going to look great in that colorway!

The yarn in that shot is so beautiful! Who knew all those colors in the skein would be so subtle when knit? Absolutely gorgeous.

I'm participating in the Ravellenics this year, and the plan is to knit a Grellow Cardigan with modified charts from Latvian Mittens using purple and yellow Shepherds wool. It's a lot of knitting, but I really love this sweater and am pretty speedy when it comes to colorwork (once I've memorized the pattern, at least!). I can't wait until Friday!

That's a beautiful yarn, and such a gorgeous pattern - are you going to post photos when you're finished knitting it?

Good luck in the Ravellenic Games!
