Modification Monday: Winter in Norway

Original Pattern: #22 Garter Yoke Cardigan and 116-47 socks

Knitter Extraordinaire: Malgosia (Ravelry ID, blog)

Mods: Used the Garter Yoke Cardigan as a base and integrated the colourwork from the sock pattern. Project page can be found here.

What Makes This Awesome: Ah, the perfect pattern mash-up. It can be tricky to find a good combination and to get the proportions balanced- but Malgosia got this just right. The cardigan is a great template for the colourwork, as the textured yoke and the colourwork are nicely balanced against each other, and it's refreshing to have colourwork not just on the yoke, which is usually where it ends up on a yoked sweater. The colour choices are wonderful, and the finished sweater is to die for. I love it!

Beautiful! And a little bit of a funny....when I saw the picture I thought it said "Go Stiks", which I thought must be some sort of knitting cheer.
