Modification Monday: Omelet Sunbrella
Original Pattern: Omelet
Knitter Extraordinaire: Yvonne (Ravelry ID)
Mods: Using the 4 gore shawl as a starting point, Yvonne doubled it up and added beads to create this stunning sumbrella. Project page with great details on her modification can be found here.
What Makes This Awesome: First of all, I love the 'hey, I could do that!' approach that Yvonne had on transforming a shawl pattern into a parasol. Lace shawls are lovely, but there is something magical about this beautiful knit- doubling it up and adding beading and then adding all that loveliness to an umbrealla's mechanics is really the stuff of awesome, fearless knitting. I'm blown away.

Wow! I think that must be one of the most impressive - and beautiful - items you've ever featured as a Modification Monday. Stunning!
Wowza! That is gorgeous and quite inventive.
Wow, that is amazingly beautiful!
Omg, that is just stunning!
Wow wow!
What an awesome idea! A bunch of white ones would be awesome for a wedding and a great gift for bridesmaids.
Wow! What will people think of next... It's beautiful!
That is one beautiful umbrella. I can't imagine the amount of time it took her to work it all out but the end product is stunning!
I do love this use of knit lace - this mod is great!
Congrads E! You do some of the most amazing work I've ever seen! As you can see, I'm not the only one! ;)
This is very clever and an amzing knit - not sure I would that this project on, but it does look beautiful!
What a clever knitter! It's beautiful!
Incredible!! I love it! :) Inspires me to tackle something a little more challenging!
Wow this project is stunning, and a great example of a modification. I'll bet an item like this would be pretty expensive were it offered in a high-end botique.

Wow! This is incredible! Congratulations on a Modification Most Impressive!!
It's wonderful. I've wanted to knit a parasol for some time now. I must say, though, that I'm almost as impressed by the fact that that is, I believe, a man modelling it!
Just incredible!1
