FO: Solaria

DSC_2709

While the test knitting stage was happening with Solaria, I cast on for it again to make sure that I had knit any of the changes as well, and to double check things like the math...I think that every high school math class should have a section where they teach the kids to knit and then have them do calculations for things like sizing and evenly spaced decreases/increases. Seeing some very practical application of math like that would have been very inspiring to 15-year old me, that's for sure.  But then again, I also think they should teach geometry by having people play pool. It's nothing but how to solve problems involving multiple angles. But I digress....

Pattern: Solaria (The Stella Collection)

Yarn: TFA Purple Label Cashmere Sock, in a One of a Kind colourway

Needles: 3.5 mm (US 4)

Mods: None.

Notes: Needles with nice, pointy tiips make the nupps SO much easier. This is the kind of knit that I've been gravitating towards lately- ones that have an interesting enough lace to keep me on my toes when knitting it. I can memorized the stitches in the rounds, but it's the kind of knitting  you need to look at, which I enjoy in the summer when I'm watching less tv and spending more knitting time al fresco. The blues and greens in this remind me so much of sea glass.

Solaria is beautiful in that colourway! I'm totally with you on teaching math from a knitter's perspective, if only I had known then how much math I'd be using in my everyday knitting life. They should also teach percentages by calculating the tips on dinner bills, thanks to my time as a waitress I can tell you 15% of just about any number!

Very pretty! I just bought a skein of malabrigo sock that I hadn't decided on a pattern yet. This may be the winner!

So lovely. This may be my next cowl.

How lovely, it does look like green sea glass with the lovely blue ocean... You've inspired me to knit outside tomorrow - unfortunately without an ocean nearby... I knitted part of your amazing Stockholm scarf by the ocean, while my mum searched for beach glass, funnily enough!

I'm completely in love with your new design -- and this colorway is beautiful knit up in your new cowl.

This is such a pretty cowl, and looks wonderful in that colourway.

I wish the weather would be nice enough here for long enough that I might feel confident that I'm not going to freeze or get soaked if I knit outside.

Pretty colors and I like the way you can wrap it around the shoulders!

Gorgeous! I recently finished a lacy cowl in similar colors. Love!
