TTC Knitalong Redux

Saturday was the 3rd year in a row I participated in the TTC Knitalong, which was a blast. I was attempting to do more live tweeting, so I didn't actually take any photos during the event that weren't cell phone photos! But here is Team Purple at Americo (sorry for the grainy cell snap):

It was a very fun day indeed! I was pretty restrained, since my stash is already a huge storage problem to begin with, but I couldn't resist taking home these goodies:

I was feeling salmon-y pinks that day, I think! And I also scored a Gleaner, which I was pretty excited about.

My take along knitting for this fun day was a very simple pattern made from this amazing, gorgeous handspun:

Tanis Handspun

The roving is from Pidgeonroof studios, and was spun and plied by Tanis . As soon as I saw it, I couldn't wait to knit something up- it's so deliciously soft and cozy. Not that I need that right now in July, but that's how amazing this yarn is- I couldn't wait for chilly weather. FO photos coming very soon!

To conclude today's post, here is a photo of Gatsby hiding under the barbecue:

So fluffy. And he's trying to stay out the sun to cool off, poor thing.

Looks like a fun event, and that is a fantastic haul! Love the handspun too, it's gorgeous. Can't wait to see your FO :)

I'd never heard of a Gleener before, but I just looked it up and now I want one! Will have to sniff out a UK supplier, haha!

I so wish had something fun like that around here. I've been feeling chocolatey but I know once I finish this sweater, I'll be back to feeling all girly pink again... lol.

I`d love to see the Gleaner in action. Great purchases!

I am really looking forward to seeing what you've done with the handspun.

Our dog gets under the grill too, only its to lick the dripping. We were not aware that it was leaking for who knows how long because he's done such an efficient job of cleanup.

That pinkish yarn in the front is jaw-droppingly beautiful!
There is logic in knitting winter items in summer and summer items in winter; you are preparing for the next season and you will have a project finished in time.

That photo looks like a knitting shop in Kalispell, MT. Camas Creek is the name of the shop. My son lives there and is a wildland fireman. I sadly, live nowhere near there. Am I right? Looks like a great day.

That looks like an awesome LYS! Wish we had something like it around here. Although maybe not! Because like with every knitter my stash is getting out of hand! :)

I saw that handspun over at Tanis blog ;) Happy you to receive it!

I am so jealous of your TTC knitalongs. They look like so much fun!

Also, a gleaner! I've been keeping an eye out for one but I may have to break down and just order it online. Please let us know how you like it.

Great additions to your stash! I love knitting fall projects in the summer -- nice to look forward to new knits to wear when the heat has gone!

Nice collection of finds! That kitty is just too cute. My cat, Gus, is also acting like a pancake and flattening himself out under things to battle the heat.

Good haul! It's too bad I missed it this year, I'll have to wait a whole year now!

Oh, poor kitty! I feel his pain. I retreat from the sun as well. Looks like the event was very successful :)
