Modification Monday: Latvian Cowl

Original Pattern: Baby Blanket Latvian Garden

Knitter Extraordinaire: Raquel (Ravelry ID, blog)

Mods: Transformed the stranded baby blanket into a beautiful cowl. Great details to follow her modifications can be found on her project page, here.

What Makes This Awesome: I'm a huge fan of taking a great colourwork chart and using it for other items, and starting with something a bit smaller can make colourwork easier to tackle. This great  cowl looks beautiful and is no doubt super toasty warm, thanks to the stranded colour work. Look how cozy  Raquel looks in the photo above! Bonus- It looks very fetching on the canine set, too:
I couldn't' resist posting these adorable photos of her doggies  modelling. Dogs and knits, it's just an awesome combo.

Love the colours, really beuatiful. Already had my eye on that pattern - just no time. But it may be easier to do a cowl??

I too like colour work but I never seem to do it and I should because done right it looks amazing, its also a great way of using up those leftover bits of lush yarn.

This is a lovely cowl thanks for the link :D ..the originally pattern has been a fave of mine for ages, maybe a cowl is just the thing to tackle the pattern .D

cute doggy pics !

What a great way to get a medium-sized taste of colorwork (bigger than a mitten, smaller than a whole blanket!). This one definitely has me thinking of a few neat projects.
