Modification Monday: Inspira Sweater

Original Pattern: Inspira Cowl

Knitter Extraordinaire: Sigrid (Ravelry ID, blog)

Mods: Transformed the beautiful colourwork cowl/caplet into a gorgeous kaleidoscopic pullover. Details on how she did this can be found on her project page, here.

What Makes This Awesome: I can't say I've seen many transformations of a caplet into a sweater, have you? This is such a lovely reinterpretation of the pattern. the colours Sigrid chose are so pretty, and the whole effect is just... WOW. Talk about making a pattern your own! What a stunning sweater.

How did I miss such a cute and popular pattern on Ravelry? The Inspira is going on my queue now! I wonder if it could be done in a lighter, spring appropriate fibre?

The sweater is an amazing feat, but the original cowl is what I'm going to knit. Yeh, how did I miss it? Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

I know this mod very well - and it indeed was amazing! The whole Inspira concept is just amazing. :)

And, @Andrea: The Inspira Cowl pattern is actually a recipe, of which there are three different versions. One of them, Steampunk, is made with fingering weight yarn - just perfect for a springtime fiber treatment.

I must say, this is quite a mod. But she made it work.

I love it when people are so smart enough to modify. Maybe not in horizontal stripes, though.
