Modification Monday: Modified Stripes To Keep mMe Warm

Original Pattern: Stripes to Keep Me Warm

Knitter Extraordinaire: Islefin (Ravelry ID, Blog)

Mods: Added a split neck line and a button placard, as well as added length.

What Makes This Awesome: Having a button band at the neckline was a brilliant idea for allowing more options for how warm you want to be while wearing this lovely caplet. The jogless stripes look amazing, and how perfect is that one lovely dark stripe near the bottom? I love how the colour is echoed in the button choice. I tend to wear a lot of jeans and long sleeve t-shirts, and this could easily be thrown on top and you have a gorgeous outfit that's perfect for this time of year. Wonderful modification details can be found on her project page, here.

How do you keep it from rucking up and rolling when you move your arms? Verry pretty, but how practical is it? I'm not being snarky, just asking. I've had trouble with things like this before.

Hi Roxie, I haven't made this, but I suspect that is has to do with who tight it is on your shoulders. if you have positive ease, it should just fall back into place. usually things ride up when they are too tight.

I really love the way the collar looks on this! That little echo stripe is a fantastic touch, too.

I agree that the one blue stripe is a great choice. I love the split collar too; it's very stylish.

Ooh, that's really cute. Love the neckline change, it would look really nice over a jacket.

I saw this pattern not so long ago, and I loved this mod too. I want to make an infinity scarf, maybe I'll make one of these instead!

I noticed the pattern before, and this is a great version of it. I love that drak stripe - very classy!

Gosh! I have never seen a caplet that I've loved. I always think, 'cute, but how the hell do you wear that?!' - this I'm in love with. It's young and fun, which usually doesn't happen in a caplet. I'm loving it! Such a great job!
