Mini FO: Coffee Sleeve

This little project was actually knitted last year, and then I finally got around to embroidering the flowers on it recently.
The pattern is totally made up on the fly- just a stockinette sleeve with a seed stitch border, and some blue flowers embroidered for a bit of colour and detail. I really love embroidery!

Saturday we had a little party to celebrate Guy's permanent residency visa. I baked up a storm- I made gluten free brownies, maple leaf sugar cookies, Canadian wildlife sugar cookies, mini cupcakes with maple leaf sprinkles, and mini quiches. Then I had to finally cave and buy pre-made nanaimo bars and butter tarts, because I had spent sooo many hours in the kitchen and I was just plain exhausted. I took some photos of the cookies, but I decided to kick back with some sangria and enjoy the party, so sunbsequently did not do much picture taking. But here are the wildlife cookies:

I'm seriously proud of all of them, but everyone loved the foxes the best.

And while we're on the subject of wildlife,  I have to share with you all some of the cutest little photos I've seen in a while:

This is a little orphaned fawn that Taylor's mom (you might remember Taylor from this post) is taking care of, with the help of her pet German Shepard!! Everything about these photos just wrings my heart, it's all so adorable. The second shot even has, inexplicably, gratuitous kittens wandering around. So much cuteness!!!

I LOVE fawns!!! Maybe the cutest babies in the world. Your cookies are beautiful, I like the noses on the bears.

Those cookies are out of control! I use any excuse to make cookies but you had the best excuse! What a great reason to party.

OMG! I LOVE the cut-out cookies you decorated! They're nearly too cute to eat! However, I'm sure I'd change my mind if tempted with a tangible treat. :-D

Sweet coffee sleeve! How do you do the embroidery?? I'm rubbish at that, even plain eyes on a knitted toy look silly :-(

So much cuteness!
I love the embroidery on the coffee sleeve, I have to try embroidering my knits ASAP! Your cute little blue flowers convinced me!
It sounds like you were so busy baking cuteness! I absolutely love the animal cookies!
And the little fawn pictures, I can't handle it all!

Great Coffee Sleeve. The embroidery makes it unique.

I cannot believe that fawn/German Shep photo. Too precious.

You baking skills are only surpassed by your knitting skills (of course, I've never had the privilege of tasting your baking, and it might actually be the other way around)! Congratulations again to Guy and, well really, to you both.

Gratuitous kittens are just the best! Love the cookies, and the blue flowers on your coffee sleeve. I should think about incorporating more of my embroidery and cross-stitching skills into my knitting...

I love all of it, but feel especially drawn to those cookies...where did you find the cutters? I guess I should have made some badger, fox and hare shaped cookies for my Britification :)

Yeah, the foxes are the best, esp the little stripe of white icing on the chests.

If only all pictures had "gratuitous kittens." So cute and funny!

hehe. "gratuitous kittens!" I want a pet deer...

Love the cookies - for the record, I think the moose are pretty spectacular as well.

The coffee sleeve is cute! I'd love to see a closeup of the flowers, if you have one. I'm pretty pathetic at embroidery.

Congratulations again to Guy on his permanent residency visa!

This post has so much cuteness in it, I can hardly stand it! First of all, the coffee sleeve - LOVE. The blue and grey are so cool together and the little flowers are adorable! The cookies?? OMG. So cute. I like the foxes best, too. Their little faces are so sweet! You did an awesome job with all those little guys. (Oh, and I am determined to have a nanaimo bar one of these days. My good friend from Vancouver is doing her best to introduce our knitting group to Canadian delicacies. I finally had poutine recently -- randomly, at a vegetarian pub in Colorado -- but nanaimo bars are still on the list.) And the fawn!!! Seriously, seriously sweet.

Your little coffee sleeve is really cute! I admire your cookies... I don't think I would ever have that kind of patience to make cookies. I'm glad to read you decided to stop at some point and just enjoy all your good work and have fun!!!

I checked out knitty.com and looked at the duck feet booties. oh my gosh they are soo cute. :) thanks for sharing.

OMG!! Did you use cookie cutters from Ikea for those cookies?? Because I'm pretty sure I just got identical ones the other day.
