Into Hiding, Briefly

I'm having my wisdom teeth removed this morning. They are impacted, and apparently one is so close to my sinus that they won't be able to get it out with nicking it slightly, and leaving a small hole (it'll heal, but wtf?!) between my mouth and sinus. The lower ones are so close to the nerve that runs along my lower jaw that they suspect I'll have some temporary nerve damage (again, sounds like a party, right?). So I'm  hunkering down this with painkillers, smoothies, and these two knitting projects:

I know that the minimalist cardi won out in the vote, but the February pullover has cast a spell on me. Also, a bit of a confession- I suspect that I might prefer the minimalist in grey. I'm not sure. I need to have a think about it, especially since I suspect I have enough yarn for both. Crazy talk, right? Well folks, I'm feeling kind of crazy. Must be the oral surgery I'm undergoing, oh, probably while you're reading this.

I'll be back next week when I'm off the painkillers! Mod Mondays will go forward as scheduled.

Hope all goes well - and be careful knitting on drugs. I know of what I speak. Keep it simple, or keep to DVD's.

Get well soon! Watch out knitting on painkillers. I got my wisdom teeth out last year and though I enjoyed knitting while curled on the couch watching movies I ended up frogging basically everything when I got better.
Also my best suggestion for feeling better post-wisdom teeth is to get on solid food as soon as you can!

Yeah, watch the drugged knitting. My post-wisdom teeth extraction drug had me in a drooling stupor. Take care.

Good luck! I'm getting mine out next week - hopefully yours go smoothly and your recovery doesn't take that long.

Good luck! I'm sure it will go great. And hey! Any excuse to knit a lot.

... right?

I don't know. The sinus hole thing might be a little extreme :)

when I had my wisdom teeth out it was not that bad, but I didn't have all those lovely problems that you have! good luck, and hopefully, you'll get some knitting done!

Best wishes for you. I woke up after wisdom teeth extraction in a cocoon of sock yarn with needles all over the bed.

So sorry to hear about your wisdom teeth. I got all 4 of mine out at the same time and it was no picnic. Pain killers are key.

The knitting looks good. Love the cabled project. Can't wait to see the finished products.

Good luck and get well soon!! I had my wisdom teeth removed about two years ago and it didn't end up being nearly as bad as I had thought. Looks like you've chosen the perfect projects to see you through your recovery!

ugh, doesn't sound like much fun. I had mine out a few years ago and it wasn't nearly as bad as I anticipated, I hope it all goes well!

You know what to do to go through painful moments!!! Both projects look awesome and althought I voted for the February Fitted Sweater, your Minimalist Cardigan will be gorgeous! Good luck with your wisdom teeth!

Feel better soon! Stoopid sneaky wise teeth. They did the very same thing to me. I was so out of it when I came to, I kept asking for a pizza dinner :p

Poor Julie :(
I hope you recover really quickly.

On the wisdom teeth -- I had a similar issue with nerve damage along the lower jaw too. The funny thing is, lips have this great functional purpose of keeping food inside your mouth when you eat! For about a month thereafter, soup would dribble out the side and I'd not feel it till it hit my upper neck, though the little flicker in my fellow diners' eyes would tell me something was wrong :). But in little over a month, some other nerves or whatever, had jumped in to make up for it and I've never had a problem since, even tho, I did have that nerve damage.

So good luck, and thanks for the great knitting blog.
