Sock Pattern: Vote!

Now that I've used up my delicious Mirasol Sulka, I'm onto my Hacho. I've decided to knit socks, and as you sock knitters out there already know, there is an absolute glut of patterns available. According to Ravelry, there are 3,382 sock patterns in it's pattern browser. That's some serious sock variety. I wanted something that had no lace (I get chilly feet- I want them covered up!), was fairly simple, and could be done without constantly looking at a chart or counting stitches every second. I wanted blank-out-and-knit socks. But pretty blank-out-and-knit socks. To that end, I narrowed it down to three patterns to swatch up: That's Jules Charade and Crusoe I'm partial to Jules, but only because I seem to be having a five-year-old response to the name of the pattern: 'Hey! Those socks have the same name as me! I want them!' I can't say that I feel really strongly about any of them. but I refuse to swatch any other patterns, and these meet my criteria of simple (but not plain) socks. So tell me: which one do you think I should make? Leave comment, and the pattern with the most votes will be chosen!

I like Jules. The vertical stripes give the multicolored yarn a focus.

I vote for Charade (is that a slipped stitch pattern?). But Jules also looks great with the yarn.

I vote charade. I like the subtler texture with the variegated colors. :D

I vote Jules too--totally agree with krafty like a fox.

I'm rather fond of the blips of color in Crusoe but Jules is also really nice.

Charade looks the best in the far-off swatches, Jules looks the best in the close-up swatches.

Crusoe... um... has a great personality!

My vote - Crusoe! I think the slip stitches will minimize pooling.

Jules or Charade. Both are pretty subtle with the varigations, but still nice to look at. (Btw my first sock in hacho is done, a little tight, but still looking nice!) I'm sure they will turn out awesome.

Charade - I can't tell you why, it just sings to me.

Jules -- unless you want a stretchier sock. I think this yarn doesn't really get to show off in Charade. And I'm betting that Crusoe doesn't exactly fit the don't think and knit criteria.

I think Jules for sure! I agree with Krafty like a fox's reason as well.

Jules! For the name and the fact that they'll tickle your feet as you walk :)

I too like Jules...however, you should check out knitty's fruit loop. They're a cute, v. fast and easy pattern and the lace is quite tight--no real holes so keeps your tootsies warm.

jules. i made them (I was so proud I was the first to knit them after the designer on Ravelry!), and they were wonderfully easy, even in black yarn.

I vote for Crusoe. I think it looks best with the yarn you are using.

I think the pattern gets lost in Charade. To me it doesn't seem like the yarn and pattern work well together, as if they are competing with each other for attention...if that makes sense.

My vote is for Charade!

Jules shows off the yarn the best, but they're all pretty!

I vote for Jules - the texture there is really obvious; plus I really like vertical lines on a sock. I tried not to read other comments before voting, but now I'm scrolling back to see the consensus.

I like Charade, those beautiful colours seem to show up better in the plainer pattern
